imageSate Lilit Ayam – Twisted Chicken Satay Author: basebali.wordpress.com Prep time:  2 hours Cook time:  30 mins Total time:  2 hours 30 mins Serves: 10 Ingredients 500 gram chicken breast 250 gram chicken skin & fat 250 gram young coconut 1 egg 100 gram “Base Gede” 50 gram “Base Sere Limo” 50 gram “Base Sune Cekuh” 50 gram shallot 30 gram garlic 10 gram salt about 25 bamboo skewers or stem of lemongrass(Indonesian: tusuk sate gepeng) Chili sauce 50 gram red cayenne chilies (Indonesian: cabe keriting merah) 10 gram grilled candlenuts (Indonesian: kemiri) 5 gram shrim paste (Indonesian: trasi) ½ inch grilled turmeric (Indoneisan: kunyit) 25 ml palm oil Lime juice Instructions In a chopper bowl, chop chicken, young coconut, shallot and garlic. In a mixing bowl combine chicken, young coconut, shallot and garlic with egg, base gede, base sere limo and salt. Twisted batter on bamboo skewers, 20 to 25 gram per skewer should be fine. With a grill (or even a frying pan in a pinch), cook the chicken satay until fully cooked . Transfer cooked satays to a serving plate. To make the chili sauce, all ingridient mashed until smooth Place chili sauce to a bowl, then combine with palm oil, and lime juice. Serve with the twisted chicken satay.
